Teaching
My intention as a cello teacher is to provide an environment of learning for my students that is fun, inspiring, creative, and has them feeling positively about music and their abilities. As a Suzuki certified teacher, who plays both notated and improvised music, my teaching is born from many traditions. I believe that learning to read music and learning to play by ear are equally important skills to develop. I follow the lead of my students, observing their preferred learning styles.
Learning music helps to strengthen your voice, connect deeply with others, develop a strong work ethic, and make the world a more beautiful place, in some small way. This is what I hope for my students, and why I believe music education is important. And on top of all this, music is fun, and cello is the best instrument!

PRACTICING
After each lesson, I send my students a concise text with notes about our lesson alongside brief practice video of new material we are working on.
STUDIO CLASSES
I offer studio classes, co-led by Chris Beroes-Haigis and myself, on the 1st Saturday of every month (September-May), which are a chance for students to connect with each other, explore creative and improvisatory ways of music-making together, and practice performing, and giving/recieving feedback.

An end of the year recital will be held in May
